In addition to these well-established CSR activities, the Group typically makes large philanthropic contributions to federal coffers after natural disasters and enormous private contributions to all national relief and rehabilitation efforts. We have not only been considerate of everyone on staff, regardless of rank, but we have also made concerted efforts to protect the local ecosystem. Many efforts have been ongoing, all with the goal of making the world a better, greener place tomorrow.

KDS’s last major program is Safe Drinking Water (2011). In 2010 and 2011, the corporation raised awareness of the safe drinking water crisis through internal communication. All KDS participants—domestic and international—praised the action. Inspired by the encouraging response, KDSAL has been conducting significant research to identify Bangladeshi populations who lack safe drinking water. As part of their corporate social duty, KDS promised to provide arsenic-free water to at least 100,000 Bangladeshis in 2011. The privileged must help the weak. Everything revolves around being human.

KDS Group delivered PPEs and masks to many hospitals in the Chittagong area as part of its corporate social responsibility efforts during the pandemic.
Fewer opportunities for progress are available in rural locations. Due to the high population density, our limited resources are especially hard on women. It was in response to this difficulty that MR Khalilur Rahman, founder and chairman of KDS, was moved to take action that would have a beneficial effect on the lives of these people. To meet this demand, he established the KR Charitable Trust and erected a number of educational facilities catering to women.

As you may imagine, it is not simple to equitably distribute resources across a population of 160 million in a country when such resources are limited. However, a high-quality education is a link in a chain that can improve not just the present but also the future of our lives to come.
